Formed in the wake of Mercy Arms’ February split, Canvas Kites is a spirited new guitar trio from Sydney. The band came together in April as the brain child of Thom Moore, former frontman for Mercy Arms. Consisting of Moore on lead vocals and electric guitar, Alex Knight on drums, and Brett Adrien on bass guitar, the group is on the road playing shows up and down the east coast.

In between gigs, the dynamic outfit is hard at work writing and recording their debut album. Be sure to listen out for their debut studio track Wayside later this month. You can also catch Canvas Kites, with support from WIM, rocking out live in the Gallery Bar at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory. The show is free on Thursday 13 August with doors opening at 9pm.
