Glenn Richards on Neil Finn'steam
Tue 4th Aug, 2009 in Local News
With Augie March currently on their last Australian tour “for a long, long time”, Glenn Richards is giving fans something to savour. The tempestuous frontman is one of the less-trumpted guests on Neil Finn’s upcoming The Sun Came Out album, contributing the track Duxton Blues.
The double-disc release – featured in FL’s 30 Most Anticipated Albums – is a follow-up to the 7 Worlds Collide live album from 2001. With all proceeds going to Oxfam, the roll-call of talent on The Sun Came Out is formidable.
Richards’ song features guitar from The Smiths’ Johnny Marr, Liam Finn on drums and backing vocals from Bic Runga and Neil Finn himself. Most of the tracks are all-star collaborations – from the likes KT Tunstall, Ed O’Brien and Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone.
We won’t have to wait long to hear it, either, with The Sun Came Out scheduled for a 17 August release.
