Spinnerette for Soundwave?
Fri 31st Jul, 2009 in Local News
Led by the fiery Brody Dalle, Spinnerette may be spending part of summer on our shores. In an interview with Triple J, Melbourne-born vocalist Dalle mentioned the band’s tour plans to promote their self-titled debut album. “I think we’re supposed to come down to Oz in February,” she offered.
After cementing her punk-rock credentials as leading lady of The Distillers, Mrs Josh Homme has now focused her energies on Spinnerette. Dalle explained her new guise in typically frank terms to NME: “I didn’t want to do a fucking monkey dance for people who don’t care about art. I want to be more art focused and call the shots.”
While the 2010 Soundwave Festival is still some way off, Spinnerette seem as good contenders as any. Organisers have already provided an early teaser of the line-up with Dance Gavin Dance and The Creepshow. Dalle’s February plan begs the question, though – where does this leave that Rancid Soundwave rumour?
