Jane's Addiction cancellationconfirmed

Following on from FasterLouder’s report yesterday that the Jane’s Addiction Australian tour may be in doubt, the bad news has been confirmed. The four-piece has been forced to cancel their visit after Stephen Perkins was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital with an infection in his elbow.

Guitarist Dave Navarro made several updates to his Twitter feed last night, saying: “Time to address the rumors. Our Australia tour has been canceled. Stephen Perkins has injured his arm and is in the hospital being treated.” He later assured fans the band is determined to “make the dates up as soon as possible.”

Jane’s Addiction was due to play Splendour In The Grass and five sideshows. We will keep you updated as any new information comes to hand.

This could work out good because when they come back they might do a dedicated venue tour instead of a festival tour with limited sideshows.

well, they were doing five shows in the five biggest capitals - if they come back, i'd be very surprised if they expanded from that...

I had tickets to both Velvet Revolver and Janes. I doubt Velvet revolver will ever grace our shores again but I would be happy with Stone temple pilots instead
