Are you a Punk, Hardcore. Oi!, Psychobilly or Ska kind of rocker? If you are, SLAMFEST! is the place for you. What is SLAMFEST! you ask? It’s a series of gigs being held monthly at The Basement in Belconnen. SLAMFEST! will kick off this weekend on 25 July with an extraordinary line up.

This Saturday nights show includes: Casino Rumblers, The Veebees, The Rumjacks and The Toxicmen. After some extensive touring along the east coast Casino Rumblers make their return to Canberra, headlining the very first SLAMFEST!, and bring with them their unique and individual punk rock style that is none like any other band.

Are you the kind of person that likes to get down to some physco-billy, rockabilly, punk or rock? Casino Rumblers is the kind of band that you need to get into, “The boys have been working on some new material and I can tell you first hand it will grab you by the balls the moment it hits your ears” says Craig McMillan, the man behind SLAMFEST! And Ruff n Ready Records.

Supporting Casino Rumblers, Canberra favourites The Veebees will be promoting their latest release Live at the Summernats. If you have no idea who The Veebees are, then you need to come out of the rock you’ve so clearly been living under and give them a good listening to. Playing their songs like Drive Thru Bottle O, Bashin the Bishop and Stay Ugly, it’s going to be one-hell-of-a-show.

The Rumjacks are one of the hardest working bands around these days. Their tour schedule is relentless, which promises a great show every time. Chances are, you’ve seen various members of the band playing in several different bands. Coming together, their sound is the perfect mix of Celtic, folk and punk and by the end of it, you’ll be screaming for an Irish whisky!

The Toxicmen have been playing in various pubs, clubs parks and backyards for a while now. With their raw punk sound, this band will defiantly leave you wanting more. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a Misfits song or two from them.

After witnessing the incredible talent that is sure to be had at The Basement this July, you’ll want to come back for more; 14 August is your chance to do so. With headlining act Toe to Toe, as well as Bulldog Spirit and Eye Gouge. This second instalment of SLAMFEST! promises to be just as amazing as the first.
