Spunk Records showcases forall ages in Byron thisweekend.

Holly Throsby, The Middle East & Leader Cheetah are performing together in a one off all ages Spunk label showcase on Friday July 24th at the Byron Bay Community Centre.

Holly Throsby has just returned from Cananda and America where she performed at the NXNE festival in Toronto. A Loud Call has also just been released in the UK, where Mojo Magazine gave the album 4 Stars and said “A Loud Call should prove to be Throsby’s breakthrough release”.

The Middle East have been taking a few weeks off before heading on the road as the main supporting for UK act Doves on their national tour. Released earlier this year, their debut EP Recordings Of The Middle East reached #42 on the Australian charts and #8 on iTunes Australia.

Leader Cheetah have just completed their album tour for their Triple J Album of The Week debut The Sunspot Letters which was described by the Courier Mail as “the best Australian debut since Augie March’s Sunset Studies”.

All will be performing at Splendour at the Grass, so if you missed out on tickets, have no plans for the Friday evening before the event or want to ease the timetable conflict action, this may be the salve for you.
