More White Album shows added

With the White Album 40th Anniversary concerts fast approaching, extra dates have been announced. Three consecutive nights sold swiftly at Sydney Opera House, calling for a fourth to be slotted in the following week at the equally opulent State Theatre. A third show at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall and a second at the QPAC in Brisbane are also locked in.

Chris Cheney, Phil Jamieson, Tim Rogers and Josh Pyke have been busy fine-tuning their interpretations of the classic Beatles numbers with the help of a 17-piece band. “We want to do justice to the songs,” Cheney told us back in June. “We don’t want to take them too far away from what they are essentially. But at the same time there’s no point trying to ape and mimic them, note for note.”

Friday 7, Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 – Sydney Opera House
Monday 10 August – Adelaide Festival Theatre
