First J Award nominees
Fri 17th Jul, 2009 in Local News
The first nominees for – œAustralian Album Of The Year’ in the J Award have been revealed, suggesting this year’s will be an eclectic field.
Having come in higher than any other homegrown act in the Triple J Hottest 100 Of All Time, Hilltop Hoods can celebrate again at their nomination for State Of The Art. The hip hop hitmakers are up against Karnivool’s powerhouse return Sound Awake (read the FasterLouder review and subsequent gushing) and Secret & Lies from indie-pop starlet Bertie Blackman.
The rest of the nominations will be revealed in instalments over coming months. It’s not hard to guess who a large chunk of FLers are backing at this stage.
