On the 16th of July ‘Leg Up’ at Revolver welcomes the mighty Skybombers to headline a night of quality rock.
The Skybombers had a hit on LA radio and were playing the Roxy on Sunset before they were old enough to buy a drink at the bar. They soon found themselves signed to Albert Productions, home to the Easybeats and AC/DC and put out their debut album Take Me To Town last year, drawing on influences from The Beatles and Stones, the Easybeats and AC/DC, Oasis and You Am I, the Libertines and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
The Bombers took some time out to answer the – œLeg Up’ Q&A…
Who are you and what sort of stuff do you play?
We are Skybombers, and we play garage rock and roll with lashings of passion, energy and charisma.
When did the band form?
A few years ago, when we were in year 11 at school.
Why should you be given a Leg Up?
Cos the sugar’s on the top shelf and we ain’t tall enough.
What’s the biggest Leg Up you’ve had so far?
Signing to Alberts records in Sydney, they are fabulous champions for our cause. Also supporting Foo Fighters in Auckland was a splendid boost as well
What’s your best song to get Legless to?
Probably Legs by ZZ Top, the irony really makes it all the more fun.
What’s your best song to get a Leg over?
Um, Fuck Forever by Babyshambles. That might improve your staying power.
Why should we Leg it and get down to Revolver for your set?
Because you will experience the pure un-adulterated power of rock and roll.
The Skybombers play Leg Up at Revolver on 16th of July with support from July Days, In The Woods and Sam Laurence.
