Pioneering Australian dance punkers, Damn Arms, have called it a day. In a final blog entry, former keyboardist and co-vocalist Yama Indra explained that he and the other half of Damn Arms, Tim Sullivan had split for creative reasons. “Earlier in the year, Tim and I agreed to part ways musically as far as the eye can see. Though we are still close friends, neither of us will be writing any further material as Damn Arms,” Indra wrote. This new announcement follows on from last year’s lineup change which saw the band shed half of its members and ditch their futuristic synth-punk sound for the breezy, disco flavoured – Å“yacht-house’ style, as perfected on the two-part single Destination.

Destination is still set to receive a final push with a remix EP due out on Bang Gang 12 Inches, but that won’t be the last we’ll hear from the group, with all of its members already off and working on new projects. Former members Ben Browning and Simon Parker have hooked up with Cut Copy and Lost Valentinos whilst Sullivan’s spearheading a new project called Das Moth and Indra is already in the middle of recording an album under his Gloves alias, which is set to feature guest spots from a host of high-calibre locals that we can’t reveal just yet.

Farewell, yacht-house warriors.
