Last Friday evening marked the close of FL’s art auction, through which $10,000 was raised for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation. All proceeds went directly to the ACMF, which teaches music to kids in disadvantaged schools, communities and detention centres.

A flurry of action happened in the auction forum in the lead-up to five pm. The successful bidders took home original rock masterpieces from the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Devo, Girl Talk, The Presets and Madness. Over 30 works were up for sale, painted backstage at some of our favourite festivals over the last year. Several more artworks were donated for auction at the Paint Like No One’s Watching exhibition in Sydney (check out the photos from the night here).

With the paint dried and the easels packed away, FasterLouder and the ACMF teamed up again to take local star Snob Scrilla to a Sydney detention centre, where he conducted a two-day songwriting workshop for the girls. Read what the man had to say about that experience.

Thanks to everyone who placed a bid in the Paint Like No One’s Watching art auction, and for supporting the Australian Children’s Music Foundation!
