Ramones go surfwear

The world can never use enough Ramones merchandise…or so the theory seems to go. Australian surf brand Quicksilver has now released a Quicksilver/Ramones product line, – œproduced in agreement with the Ramones’ global merchandise licensee’. While they never struck us as the beach holiday types, the range nevertheless includes a pair of boardshorts featuring Ramones art.
Spiderbait powerhouse Kram has been recruited to cover Blitzkrieg Bop for the campaign. Much like his debut album Mix Tape, he plays all instruments on the song – and you can watch the surfie road-trip music video below.
This latest cash-in got us thinking about the money-spinning world of band merchandise. There have been plenty of ridiculous and inspired product tie-ins over the years – from the Kiss Kasket to the Weezer Snuggie. WE TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE WEIRDEST HERE.
