Full line-up for Soundwave 2010 here

It might be a good eight months away, but the line-up for Soundwave Festival 2010 has already begun to take shape. California screamo/hardcore crusaders Dance Gavin Dance have confirmed themselves for the five date run in February/March.

The band has kept up a steady work-rate since forming from the ashes of Farewell Unknown and Ghost Runner on Third in 2005. Their third studio album Happiness was released earlier this month, with former vocalist Jonathan Mess replaced by Kurt Travis.

A review in Alternative Press had solid praise for Happiness: “Dance Gavin Dance strive to be more than just another pockmark on the face of 21st century nü screamo, but their efforts are best exemplified by full-length No. 3, Happiness, a pleasing puree of the Fall Of Troy’s effects-laden, thumping guitar intricacy and Circa Survive’s ethereal atmosphere.”

While Dance Gavin Dance is the first confirmed name, rumours have already begun circulating about headliners. Canadian five-piece Alexisonfire hinted at a possible booking when they told Triple J they’re planning to tour in February 2010. Stay tuned for updates.
