There’s much to be said for the humble brown paper bag, so simple, so unassuming and yet it carries so many possibilities.
With this thought in mind the first edition of Brown Paper Bag carries a classy collection of indie bands to the Prince Bandroom this Thursday night – the 25th of June.
Headlining line up are local heroes The Fearless Vampire Killers with their bluesy bluster. They’re joined by The Young Lovers, Red Ink and the controversial 60s Rolling Stones influenced Frowning Clouds.
Which makes for a great night of live music, though it doesn’t quite fill the bag to the brim. But once you throw in the indie electro of Wilfred Jackal, rock and rollers The Dowlings and Former Child Stars fresh from a national tour with Madness you’ve got a bag overflowing with goodness.
No word on whether theme extends to allow your to drink longnecks in brown paper bags, but either way I’ll be a hell of a gig!
