Fasterlouder Sounds LikeBrisbane
Sun 21st Jun, 2009 in Local News
Brisbane’s music scene is ever-changing, growing and generating new sounds. Here at Fasterlouder Brisbane/Gold Coast, we’re continually striving to increase our coverage of the local product because we believe our burgeoning scene needs to be respected and protected, cherished and regaled.
And so, to coincide with the release of the brilliant Brisbane Sounds compilation, we’re kicking off a week focussing on recent releases from Brisbane musicians – a week where everything Sounds Like Brisbane.
We’ll be writing about listening to the Brisbane Sounds compilation as well as recent releases from Black Mustang, Mexico City, They Are Spies, all of the releases from the Lofly Records stable – including Mr Maps, Restream, Toy Balloon, aheadphonehome and The Riflebirds together with many more home grown offerings that have come our way.
Sounds Like Brisbane has kicked off tonight, so check out the reviews of Hunz’s Thoughts That Move and the self-titled EP’s from Tin Can Radio and Rokeby Venus right here on FL.
We won’t be pulling back from our commitment to local coverage, so if you’re a SE Qld musician with a CD you’d like us to review, drop us a line at brisbane@staff.fasterlouder.com.au
