CHECK OUT THE FULL SECOND LINE-UP FOR SPLENDOUR HERE!
Ahead of tomorrow’s Splendour second line-up announcement, Madchester survivors Happy Mondays have let slip that they’ll be making the trip to Byron Bay. The tour calendar on the band’s website puts them at Splendour In The Grass before returning home for V Festival UK.
With a well-earned reputation for excess, (parts of) the outfit emerged from the wilderness in 2007 with their fifth album Uncle Dysfunktional. Lead hellraiser Shaun Ryder and his right hand man Bez are miraculously still standing, making various festival appearances over the last few years.
They were part of the 2001 Big Day Out tour, transporting the Boiler Room to the sweaty clubs of Manchester circa 1990. We can only expect the same will be true of the dance tent at Belongil Fields this July.
