Something For Kate’s towering frontman Paul Dempsey has been hard at work of late on his debut solo album, Everything Is True. Set for a 14 August release, the record was put together in the idyllic Macmasters Beach in New South Wales, then mixed in Los Angeles. Dempsey recently returned home for a round of sold-out shows, airing the new material to much acclaim.
Everything Is True is described as having “a sense of space, economy and loose-limbed acoustic verve that compliments some of the most direct lyrics he has written.” Lead single Out The Airlock certainly rings true to that description, with its follow-up Ramona Was A Waitress soon to follow in July.
FasterLouder has got its hands on a behind-the-scenes video of the recording process, with Dempsey manning all instruments and giving us a feel for the songs. Watch it here.
Paul Dempsey’s Everything Is True is out 14 August through EMI.
