With our favourite winter festival drawing ever closer, there’s been much discussion about who we’ll see on the Splendour In The Grass second line-up. While those grand Mancunians Doves look pretty certain, what’s out there is mostly rumour and wishful thinking (Simon & Garfunkel is one of our favourite predictions).

This Thursday 18 June, the real deal is set to arrive from Splendour HQ. With the line-up already boasting MGMT, Bloc Party, Jane’s Addiction, The Flaming Lips and many more, the second announcement will only sweeten the deal. Splendour In The Grass is of course well and truly sold out. Make sure to check back on FL this Thursday for the second line-up!

according to a guy on lastfm:
Klaxons, Deadmau5, Kasabian, Architechechure In Helsinki, Tame Impala, Art vs Science, Children Collide, Eskimo Joe, Phrase, Empire Of The Sun, Miami Horror, Parades, Infusion, Pez, Bertie Blackman & Lisa Mitchell.

dont think kasabian will be on the line up, and parklife are particularly pushing that EOTS's first live performance will be at parklife, so that leaves me with doubts.
if this does turn out to be the 2nd lineup its ok but a bit uninspired.

A lot of that list seems feasible but there's a few ifs. Pretty meh given 3 of them already playing Parklife and 1 of the internationals is a very average dj/producer who was just here.

The guys from Augie March mentioned them as one of the bands they are looking forward to playing alongside a while back when the first announcement came out.

Ok.... now I understand The Happy Mondays place in indie and even dance music. But does anyone remember Shaun Ryders debacle at goodvibes a couple of years ago? Fat, sweaty, coked to the eyeballs, and apparently MC'ing, when he was meant to be DJ'ing. Mumbling incoherently. Another band reforming and cashing in, boring

Don't worry knate, I'm not massive on the Happy Mondays either.
Would consider catching their set just to see how hammered Sean Ryder gets, though. In the words of the Libertines- "What a waster, what a fookin' waster".

I don't know that Sean Ryder is actually smashed on stage anymore.

I think it is just the aftermath of many years of abuse.

His philosophy of why take one pill once a day for a month when you could just take all 30 of them in one hit took it's toll.
