AstroChem This Friday Night

Having already developed a strong fan base, local band AstroChem are set to hit the stage at one of Canberra’s well known all age venues, the Woden Youth Centre. Giving free entertainment for the youger crowds, WYC will host a number of talented acts on Friday June 12th including Escape Syndrome, Paqman, Vera, Trubulence and of course, AstroChem.

“We are influenced by anything that funks, grooves, feels, amazes, loves and joys,” says the band on the eve of their upcoming gig. Bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Regina Spektor, Daft Punk and even a little Justin Timberlake are just a few of those who add influence to the bands style.

“When the four elements of sound gathered in council, across the vast expanses of the cosmos- They fused their musical prowess, and formed a single consciousness. The pure soundwave energy released, gave birth to a universe, and thus: the Astro-Chemist was born,” as AstroChem like to put it, they came about from a strange place, only to join and entertain us all.

Keeping it funky, psychedelic and sometimes on the verge of dance music, AstroChem show a real individuality and are sometimes out of sorts, with crazy lyrics and attractive sounds coming from all instruments. Combined, this is sure to blow your mind. They consider themselves a unit, the AstroChemist forming sounds and rifts like no other with a dash of fine vocals, an elixir for the ears, and excitement for the eyes, these strapping young lads are sure to get the place pumping.
