Birmy celebrates one year ofnot being shit

12 months ago you’d have been forgiven for avoiding the cold and lonely pub on the corner of Johnston and Smith Street – unless you were into that kind of thing.

But proudly living up to its new motto of – œIt’s not shit anymore’ the Birmy has become a welcome home for some of Melbourne’s best new bands.

Over the last year the pub has hosted gigs from American tourists Dan Deacon, Daniel Striped Tiger as well as local favourites The UV Race, Spider Vomit, Oh Mercy, St Helens and Deaf Wish.

To celebrate The Birmingham’s first year milestone, the pub has gathered a stellar lineup including The Basics, The Frowning Clouds, The Harpoons, The Greasers, Major Major, Shaman Son, Teen Archer, Ships Piano, This War, Dozers, Wil Wagner, The Hondas and Grizzly Jim Lawrie, with DJs Bandlands and Streetcore providing the tunes between bands.

It’s sure to be a massive day and you’re all invited – but get down early, with FREE entry this is sure to be packed!

The party kicks off from 4pm on Saturday June 27th.
