Could Canadian five-piece Alexisonfire be the first contender for Soundwave 2010? The band will this month release its fourth studio album Old Crows/Young Cardinals through esteemed US label Vagrant Records. In a matter of weeks, they kick off the Warped 2009 Tour of the US alongside NOFX, Bad Religion, Flogging Molly and many more.

Speaking with FasterLouder’s Keely Kovacevic recently, guitarist Wade MacNeil conceded there were Australian tour plans in the works but nothing confirmed. It seems his bandmate Dallas Green was a little more forthcoming in a chat with Triple J. “Dallas from Alexisonfire LOVES Australia so hard,” the Triple J Morning Show posted on Twitter. “Planning to tour in Feb.” We eagerly await further news.

Agreed. I want a real tour. I dont care if they do soundwave too...as long as a get a real show with long setlist!

They have done three proper tours already, what were you doing those times?

I doubt they are playing Soundwave this time around I expect a tour.

Completely irrelevant. Last time they toured here was to do Soundwave and did no sideshows, so even if they'd toured 83 times before i'd still expect an actual show this time.

Is this the part where you tell us all about how you humped Steels leg? I haven't heard that story in a few weeks..

They toured like 8 months before Soundwave...
You would have had the chance to hump Dallas's face if you had actually got into the band before the bandwagon stopped to let you on.

No bandwagon, buddy. I was late as fuck but I actually only found out about Alexisonfire by watching Cancer Bats' Pneumonia Hawk clip (which obviously features GP). True story.

I got into Crisis era Alexis.
But i remember liking Water Wings when it was when it was on V.
Didnt see them at the Big Top cause didnt have a job :(

You didn't miss much, far too big and they lacked the intensity you would come to expect. They were great at Soundwave though so they can definitely do the bigger scale shows with aplomb.
