Another new venue for Brisbane

Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley continues to grow as one of the premier hubs for music in Australia with the addition of a new venue to it’s precincts.

The venue, which has not officially released it’s name or location, is said to be seriously focussed on new, unsigned and emerging musicians. The view is to showcase artists from all genres, and are not limiting themselves to bands either, inviting DJs who can mix anything and everything to show their stuff!

The owners are seeking out talent as we speak, so to get in touch, contact music@xandybar.com.au.

haha yes, it would seem the e-mail is giving it away. unless it's a disguise... maybe it's MYSTIQUE. the whole R n B thing is a cover up until the real thing is unveiled...

the press release doesn't reveal much unfortunately:

Brisbane is about to welcome a new, boutique live music venue. We can�€™t tell you where, other than it�€™s in the heart of Brisbane�€™s live music scene, where it all started and continues to grow.
This venue is serious about emerging bands, emerging DJs and creators of sound. They know you need a place to play, a place to jam, a place to experiment. A place where people with like minds come to listen and kick back. That�€™s their place.
They are looking for music across all genres: indy rock, hip hop, electronic, house, scar punk, heave metal, Australian folk, blues, alternative country and all in between. Emerging, unsigned, just signed�€�.they want to hear your sound.
DJs ditto. We are looking for sound creators who mix vinyl, CD and cybasounds.

new rumour going around butterfingers tonight is its invite only... does anybody have any hard facts about it? im not trekking to the valley to get turned away. kinda frustrating overall

the bands id spoken to about it (which is admittedly only a couple) is that you gave them your details, and then waited, and then theyd tell you when your slots were, usually with very little notice (24 hours) and if you couldnt make the slot theyd given you, then you got dropped off their list...

The indie temple got a bad name purely because of bad management. Regardless, Brisbane definately lost a great live music venue.
