Karnivool wake up the nation
Thu 16th Apr, 2009 in Local News
With new album Sound Awake due in May, Perth rock unit Karnivool will be piling into the tour van shortly after. Apart from a rollicking afternoon slot on the mainstage at Homebake last December, the band has been rather quiet on the tour circuit. This outing in June will be their first headline jaunt in over a year.
Naturally, frontman Ian Kenny has been rather busy with that other project Birds Of Tokyo, fitting in the studio sessions for Sound Awake wherever possible. Four years have passed since Karnivool’s debut Themata, but guitarist Drew Goddard promises the long gestation period has birthed “a second record that we are all proud of”. There’s little cause for worry that the shine has gone off their live show, either.
Karnivool’s Sound Awake tour makes the following stops. Tickets on sale Thursday 23 April.
Saturday, 20 June – Tivoli, Brisbane – over 18s only
Wednesday, 24 June – Metro Theatre, Sydney – over 18s only
Friday, 26 June – The Forum, Melbourne – over 18s only
Sunday, 28 June – HQ, Adelaide – over 18s only
Wednesday, 1 July – Metro, Fremantle – over 18s only
