After gracing our shores back in 2007 under the guise of The Twilight Singers, Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan have revealed they’ll be bringing their own special brand of whiskey-drenched rock back to Australia in July. This time, it’s as part of their An Evening With tour.
Expect a far more restrained, but no less emotionally charged, performance on this visit. The duo – perhaps rock’s most interesting BFFs – playing a selection of songs from their combined back-catalogue in a stripped-back, acoustic style. And if the set-lists from their previous shows are anything to go by, it should definitely be a night (or day, depending on where they’re placed on the Splendour timetable) to remember.
The dates have been reported on the summerskiss website, taken from the Gutter Twins MySpace page. There’s been no confirmation from a local promoter, but here’s where Dulli and Lanegan say they’ll be:
23 July – York Theatre (Seymour Centre), Sydney
24 July – Athenaeum, Melbourne
26 July – Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay
