Here’s another name to add to the Splendour wish-list – elder statesmen of ska The Specials have just announced Australian shows for July. In celebration of their 30th anniversary, the band is set to tour here for the first time ever with the original line-up: Terry Hall, Lynval Golding, Neville Staple, Sir Horace Gentlemen, Roddy Radiation and John Bradbury.
The bona-fide trailblazers have sold out every single show on their upcoming circuit of the UK, and these dates down under are sure to follow suit. After the Madness-inspired high of the past few weeks, this news couldn’t come at a more opportune time.
Catch The Specials in their original incarnation at these very special shows. Tickets on sale Thursday 16 April.
Tuesday 28 July – The Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Thursday 30 July – The Palace Theatre, Melbourne
