Call your parents and get a new credit card, because Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel have just announced a return to Australian arenas. The star pair with many a classic hit to their name(s) last toured here since way back in 1983.

These shows are the only confirmed Simon and Garfunkel dates for 2009, so we’re entitled to feel rather privileged. The – œOld Friends In Concert’ tour is likely to sell out quicker than you can hum the chorus to Mrs. Robinson – you have been warned.

Simon and Garfunkel will serenade the following stadiums this winter. Tickets on sale 9am, Friday 17 April.

Wednesday 17 June – Entertainment Centre Brisbane
Saturday 20 June – Acer Arena, Sydney
Sunday 21 June – Acer Arena, Sydney
Thursday 25 June – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Friday 26 June – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Tuesday 30 June – Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
Thursday 2 July – Burswood Dome, Perth

I'll definitely be going to this. I'd almost probably prefer Paul Simon to tour alone and just do his stuff, but I love the Simon and Garfunkel stuff massively too.

Shame it's at Acer Arena, but I'd have been surprised if they'd played anywhere else. Ent Cent would have been too good to be true.

There were also $97 Bronze and $150 Silver options... It's not like silver would have been any further back than the Gold seat I looked at which had it been any further back it would have started digging into the foundations and might have actually struck real gold.
