The aptly named UnderExposed Festival will deliver some overdue kudos to the unsung heroes of Brisbane’s music scene, its photographers.
Running over three weeks from April 17 to May 4, UnderExposed Festival will bring together some of Brisbane’s finest music photographers and musicians in a celebration of all things music and photographic. There will be a free exhibition, ticketed music evenings, as well as a photography forum.
The Exhibition
There will be a free exhibition running over the festival, featuring works from local photographers: Dane Beesley, Stephen Booth, Justin Edwards, Kylie Keene, Aaron Sammut, Elleni Toumpas, James Adams, Kristen Ashton, Joshua Collings, Chris Jameson, Stuart Blythe, Charlyn Cameron, Stephen Bull, Josh Woning and more.

The Bands
Each Friday and Saturday evening will see a plethora of quality Brisbane acts partaking in the festivities. Live music will be provided courtesy of Black Market Rhythm Co, Drawn From Bees, The Quills, Blame Ringo!, The Traveling So And Sos, Georgia Potter & Band, Tim Lloydell And The Deckchairs, Banawurun, The Faze, Mikki Ross, Grand Atlantic, The Cairos, Impossible Odds, 333, Xxi, Tso, Davey Spicer And The Creatures Of Habit, High Plains Drifters, The Horse Darkly, Pear And The Awkward Orchestra and Novascotia with many more acts still to be announced!

The Forum
This one day workshop series brings together developing and experienced music photographers, providing the opportunity to learn, discuss and grow with your peers. The forum will include sessions catering for the beginner photographer to the more experienced, touching on everything from fine-tuning your workflow, building a business model, understanding your right, to learning how to get your first media pass.
In the morning will be two simultaneous workshops, a beginner workshop and an intermediate workshop. Then in the afternoon some of the best music photographers from across the nation will offer a forum for open discussion and giving you the opportunity to see how these pros have gotten to where they are now.
