V Festival takes flight
Mon 30th Mar, 2009 in Local News
The V Festival juggernaut fired into life on the weekend, bringing with it sun, skanking and Vanilla Ice. Sydney and Brisbane were the first cities to get the V treatment and the weather gods couldn’t have been kinder.
Garage2V winners Villains Of Wilhelm got things off to a rowdy start (especially in hometown Brisbane), with standout sets throughout the day from Madness, The Human League and Jenny Lewis. More modest crowds at The Other Stage were treated to spirited performances from M83 and The Kills, while over on the new Virgin Mobile Stage Children Collide and Wolf and Cub showed up some of the marquee names. Lengthy bar queues were again a problem in Sydney, but the overall mood remained buoyant.
So who were you standouts/lowlights? Let us know below.
