New bar Vinyl to enhance WestEnd's Hi Fi experience
Tue 10th Mar, 2009 in Local News
Always missing out on tickets for big acts? Think it would be good to at least get the live experience as it happens on a big screen? Well, the good people at The Hi Fi have planned to do just that with the announcement of stand alone bar VINYL.
Set to open on April 29 in the refurbished Pavillion Hotel building on Boundary Street, The Hi Fi is going to incorporate a small stand-alone bar where punters will have the chance to mix it up with artists in VIP areas after shows and also enjoy intimate acoustic performances of local and international headline acts when they’re touring in town.
Overall, the purpose built venue for The Hi Fi and VINYL will be a state of the art performance and entertainment space replete with all of the technological gadgetry we’ve come to know and enjoy from multi-million dollar refurbs. This integrated approach to the building design will enable high quality, live video and audio feeds to be pumped from the main venue and broadcast on two projector screens in VINYL, on an on-demand basis. Very spesh.
To celebrate the opening of The Hi-Fi and VINYL, Melbourne band The Drones will headline a free-entry-only show in The Hi-Fi’s main room on April 29.
The show will also be broadcast into VINYL. The Hi-Fi website – www.thehifi.com.au – will be hosting an exclusive draw for fans to win tickets to the gig.
