Jungle blues man C.W. Stoneking is setting off for the “dark corners of the globe”, but first he’ll be packing his banjo for another Australian tour. The travelling raconteur has been nominated for the Australian Music Prize, following rousing performances over the summer festival season.
His plan for 2009 is to tour abroad and record a new album, so this March/April jaunt will be the last chance for a while to soak up his old-time tales. C.W. will be joined of course by his Primitive Horn Orchestra, and supported by one of the brightest lights in blues – Brookyln’s Mamie Minch. The Jungle Blues album tour was a sell-out, and you can expect this one to follow suit.
C.W. Stoneking plays the following shows in March.
Wednesday 11 – Prince Of Wales, Bunbury
Friday 13- Octagon Theatre, Perth
Wednesday 18 – Grand Junction, Maitland
Thursday 19 – Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle
Friday 20 – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 21 – Canberra Playhouse
Sunday 22 – Clarendon Guest House, Katoomba
Tuesday 24 – Blakiston Theatre, Geelong
Friday 27 – Karova Lounge, Ballarat
Sun 29 – The Palais, Hepburn Springs
