Not content to stop at local lights Decoder Ring, Coldplay has added a second support act to its upcoming mega-tour of Australia. New York mainstays Mercury Rev are jetting out to warm the stage at the 11 arena shows. It’s been three years since the band has visited our shores, and they’ve got a hefty catalogue of albums to draw from.
From the dreamy pop of Decoder Ring to the urgent psych-rock of Mercury Rev to the sweeping stadium theatrics of Coldplay, we wager it’ll be a nicely undulating evening. The epic tour kicks off in Perth on Friday 27 February, and FasterLouder will have all the coverage from the shows.
