Paul Kelly and the Michael Gudinski-led Frontier Touring Company have joined forces with Leonard Cohen and AEGLive UK to donate $200,000 to victims of the Victorian bushfires.
Cohen and Kelly are currently touring Australia, including a performance in mid January at Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley – a region currently under bushfire threat. Everyone involved in the tour hopes the contribution will go some way to aiding those in need.
A statement issued by the tour explained that ‘Leonard has loved his time in Australia on this tour and is shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the fires. Leonard, Paul, their touring parties and everyone at AEGLive UK and The Frontier Touring Company wish to extend their heartfelt sympathies to those that have suffered the loss of loved ones or their homes through this terrible tragedy.’
