First there was Elton John’s Candle In the Wind written for Marilyn Munroe, next their was The Androids’ Do It With Madonna, written for fifteen minutes of fame and now there is Say Anything’s, Baby You’re A Baby written for Kylie Hungerford from Castle Hill.
Say Anything are heading out to Australia in February to be a part of the Soundwave Festival , but before they arrive their lead singer Max Bemis wanted to prove their worth to FasterLouder by writing one of our members a song. To be immortalised in song is quite an achievement, so to find the rightful recipient of this ditty we asked FLers to tell us why their lives were worth singing about.
After trawling through many entries the band stumbled upon a life story that was just the right amount of tragedy and comedy to make for a moving tribute:
“I’m a 27 yr old cricket widow. My husband is 35yrs old and we have two children together. Sounds normal right? NO! HUBBY STILL LIVES AT HOME! Living with the in/out-laws has its moments and there are many times when you can cut the air with a knife- the tension is that bad… He says it’s not the case, but I am sure we are still living here because his mummy doesn’t want him to leave home! The day I married my hubby I actually married his whole family. Now, if there isn’t a song in my story, then I don’t know what’s going on!”
After what we can only imagine were many long hours spent in the studio the final product has arrived on our desks – and what a masterpiece it is. Sure to be revered as a classic throughout the ages, FasterLouder is proud to present you – Baby You’re A Baby written by Say Anything, a moving tribute to Kylie Hungerford.
