Melbourne-via-Wales trio Shooting at Unarmed Men will play their last ever show on January 31 at The Tote, where the band played a hugely successful residency in 2006.
In a statement on their website, SAUM confirmed that their final release will be their fourth album, With the Youthful Energy of a Zealot, with unmastered copies of the record available on the night at – œlittle to no cost to the average consumer’.
Jon Chapple formed Shooting At Unarmed in Cardiff after the breakup of mclusky before relocating to Melbourne in 2006. He continued performing under the name SAUM name in Australia with Julian Tovey and Tom Cooper from The Cheats rounding out the three piece. Though the Cheats have since left and the band’s current line-up sees Chapple joined by Patrick Walker and Chris Drane.
As the band claim – œIf you don’t attend this moment in history you’re a wanker, geographically challenged, or simply someone with something better to do. But probably the former’.
