Big Day Out made its first Australian stop yesterday under the scorching Gold Coast sun. FasterLouder was on the ground to bring you the first review – and the news is good.
As expected, homegrown bands got their moment to shine, with the likes of The Living End, Birds Of Tokyo and Cog getting a hero’s welcome. Putting the doubters to shame, headliner Neil Young delivered a rip-roaring festival set that left fans in reverie (and maybe a few kids with a new idol).
