Stereolab supports announced
Thu 15th Jan, 2009 in Local News
En route to headline Laneway Festival 2009, avant-pop stars Stereolab have recruited one of our best to open their sideshows. Pitchfork-pleasing Melbourne outfit Crayon Fields will be getting things off to a stylish start, drawing (in part) from last year’s excellent Mirror Ball 7-inch. One-man band Guy Blackman is also on board in Melbourne; another fitting foil to the headliner’s sense of class.
As any self-respecting Stereolab fan will know, it’s been six years since the band’s last visit to our shores – so these are miss-them-and-regret-it shows. Going on the strength of its most recent album Chemical Chords, Stereolab is sure to deliver a charged, body-moving live performance.
Stereolab, now with added Crayon Fields, play two select sideshows. Best hurry, as tickets will continue moving swiftly.
Tuesday 3 February – Billboard The Venue, Melbourne
Thurs 5 February – Metro Theatre, Sydney
