After a show-stopping debut at Mount Buller (revel in the praise HERE), All Tomorrow’s Parties will back up this weekend on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island.

Presented in conjunction with the Sydney Festival, this is sure to be a inspiring programme. Prepare to make some musical discoveries. The map and playing times are in for both days, so it’s time to get planning.

Children's stories would be pretty fuckin' rad. If you look on the website, Hoss is on the list, and so is TBC. BUT... TBC doesn't have a slot on the timetable. So fuckin' fooey! Can't complain I 'spose. Bad Seeds is pretty decent..

Yeah, Hoss were the last band added to Mt Buller too. They're good, so it's OK. But admittedly don't have the star power of Dirty Three or Grinderman. Having just gotten back from the Mt Buller weekend, I can say that it was the best festival I have ever attended. Everything hit the mark. And I landed a photo with Warren Ellis at about 1am on the last night. My weekend was complete. Can't wait to hit the Sydney one this weekend - everyone should do the same to make it as successful as possible. The Bad Seeds were just huge. You have to see/hear it go down for yourself.

They've got $25 dollar tickets for ATP down at that Martin Place box office tomorrow morning - no excuses Sydney folk. You need to hit this.

omg, that is good, $25 for ticket plus $10 for train fare *sigh* gee wizz, why can't i have a job!!! = / I can almost afford it, but then no alcohol, need lunch, need sun cream *grumble* Nah i need that money for hottest 100 gambling, so i can actually afford stuff i might need = ( like paying rent and elec bill lol

i know!!! especially considering the last gig i went to was Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds at the Big Top at Luna Park for Abattoir Blues tour. yerp, that long ago. gee i'm torn. maybe i should just spend australia day home alone with the radio and do this? *grumble* i'll ponder and ponder and ponder some more.

I've never seen the Bad Seeds in better form. Admittedly, I've only seen them three times, but they were an unstoppable force last night. Absolutely peerless. Bit of a greatest hits set (plus DLD stuff), but the delivery is superlative. And if you scream loud enough you might get Stagger Lee. We did.

Hi my ticket says the ferry leaves at 4pm - dunno what the tix sold tomorrow will say but that means you miss loads of interesting bands. anyone want to share a water taxi to the island at 1230 or 1?

I got there 5:15am, were 26 people ahead of me, and yer, they had heaps for 4pm, but there were 11:30am for those that were there first. If you had've been further toward the front Meatbix I would have approached you after you got your ticket (not knowing it was you) and asked if you wanted to taxi, we got 9 people and agreed and were sorted from there, left 1:30pm eventually, only ended up with 6 on the water taxi, $13.66 each

Is a shame you didn't post on here before 12:30pm, i would have got you on the taxi!

yer was great fun. It's a shame that the foundry stage was 15 minutes behind schedule and yet the shipbuilders stage stayed on it's schedule, so instead of seeing one artist then going to see the next back and forth, it ended up being watch artist on foundry stage and go and see the last 2-3 songs of the act on the shipbuilders stage, then go bathroom, bar, and get ready for next act on foundry again.

What was the deal with having Little Creatures on tap?

I brought along my stubby holder ready to put warm cans of Carlton Draught or Tooheys Extra Dry in it and complain about drinking crap beer all day.

This was easily one of the best festivals I've ever been to, if not the best. I enjoyed pretty much everything I saw all day, the food, drink and amenities were great. Being able to drink Little Creatures all day was ridiculously awesome, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were epic!

I couldn't agree more about the Little Creatures. So cold, so tasty. What an amazing festival site too. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds put on such a satisfying show; Harmonia was great to witness, found afrirampo drained me after a while, Psarandonis was really special up at that incredible Barracks stage. Fuck Buttons were okay.

The best Breakfast beer I've ever had!

Its hard to pick a highlight, but I will be ordering a bunch of new cds from bands I adored that I hadn't heard of previously. Spiritualized blew me away, sticking my feet in the harbour with a beer and mexican in hand while still getting a brilliant view of Robert Forster was epic, and Bad Seeds going about their work again is always a pleasure.

Well I made it. It was quite amazing. Nick Cave blew me AWAY. So fucking good. James Blood Ulmer was really good, Dead Meadow were fucking cool and Passenger of Shit was crazy

I was third in line for Sunday (friends and I made a night of it dancing to four-tet and od'ing on No-doz, had to leave the line briefly for Wiley but still had my place) and got tickets to a 12:30 ferry. funny thing is, we talked our way onto the first one! the marshals were kind enough to just let us jump on!

Other than that, best festival ever. Easily.

bugger! i could have saved myself a water taxi if i'd just walked up there and tried to get on!! and been hours earlier! bugger, oh well, i was happy, our water taxi driver was a poet! lol he recited a poem as we travelled to the island lol.
