The promoter’s of the Big Day Out in Perth have confirmed that this year’s event will take place at The Claremont Showground as planned, despite reports last week that the council had refused their application.
In a statement released today the Big Day Out revealed that Council and the Minister for The Environment had granted approval – with the music limitations for the event remaining the same as past years.
Perth promoter Ken Knight expressed his relief at the outcome and also had a little safety message of his own for punters, encouraging everyone attending the event to slip, slop, slap before they rock. “It is nice to have this issue behind us, and we appreciate the support of the current Western Australian Government recognizing the cultural significance of the event. We look forward to seeing everyone at the BIG DAY OUT on Sunday February 1stat Claremont Showground. Please remember to bring your hats and sunscreen and have a great Big Day Out”.
