Sydney Soundwave venueconfirmed
Wed 7th Jan, 2009 in Local News
After many rumours that the Sydney Soundwave would be abandoned – promoters have finally confirmed a Sydney venue.
The February festival, featuring Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains and Lamb of God, will be held at the Eastern Creek Raceway – forty kilometres west of Sydney’s CBD. The promoters have described the space as the “…The ideal venue for a multi-stage event (that) comes unburdened with noise restrictions and curfews, meaning that…Sydney’s festival goers will be able to hear the bands beyond the thirty metre mark.”
The news will come as welcome relief to Sydney ticket holders who have been dreading the possibility of a cancellation. They will also be pleased to know that to make the hike out west easier there will be continuous free bus services operating between local train stations and the event all day. Furthermore, due to the extended availability of performance hours at the festival a number of surprise acts have been added just to the Sydney event.
