For one night only at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, the five remaining members of The Triffids will pay homage to David McComb with A Secret in the Shape of a Song. The evening is very proudly presented by FasterLouder and Same Same. The band will be joined on-stage by a staggering guest-list of McComb friends and admirers. Among them are Mick Harvey of the Bad Seeds, Steve Kilbey from The Church, Brian Jonestown Massacre player Ricky Maymi and Youth Group frontman Toby Martin.

Together they’ll “showcase the extraordinary songwriting genius of David McComb, from early gems such as Stand Up, recognised classics like Wide Open Road and Bury Me Deep In Love, through to exclusive renditions of unreleased works from McComb’s later years.” A Secret in the Shape of a Song was a much-talked about highlight of the 2008 Sydney Festival, and we wager it’ll be an equally special night at Hamer Hall.
