I thought they'd decided to finish the Boiler Room on a DJ from now on to avoid overcrowding (in Sydney at least). Shrug. Will be ridiculous for The Prodigy.

Arrghh what the hell? Why wouldn't you close with the prodigy on the main stage. Have Neil Young before (or after) but how on earth could Pendulum be on the main stage and the prodigy not. It should be the other way round. It's going to be impossible to dart from place to place this year :-(

Meh, most of the BDO this year. gw to the schedulers for working a timetable that makes me want to go. A protip to them: Having a small final release about this time next year would be nice, rather than having people like me search for decently-priced scalped tickets

Surely you'll have to leave Neil Young before he finishes to make it into the Prodigy before they close it due to being full.

That kind of sucks. Luckily I'm going to see them the night after at the Hordern.

Bummer that pendulum and cog are on in the arvo. Sunshine doesn't suit those two acts, but fair enough, they can't give everyone a night spot.
Now, Prodigy in the boiler room - oh boy that does seem crazy (although they've done this before with Chemical Brothers and also Fatboy Slim). I expect these forums to be packed with messages afterwards, from sad punters who couldn't fit in the boiler room to see them.
I wasn't too excited by this years line-up but seeing it on the timetable has made me glad that I'm going.

The one good thing about the lineup being inferior to previous years is that there are less clashes!

I know that logic is painfully flawed, but at least it makes deciding what to see easier.

No I'm sure we wouldn't... but he did say "decent". Definitely plenty of room to move there.

Even the most discerning music fan would have to agree most, if not all, of those bands I listed are AT LEAST decent.

Ok ok, by 'decent' I meant acts that haven't already toured Australia ten times in the last 2 years and have more than one decent album.

Trickiest part is how to fit Lupe Fiasco or Pendulum in. I'm going to the Prodigy sideshow so I won't mind being stuck outside the boiler room at the end of the day.

Most of my bands are on the orange and green (plus a few on the blue, which means if i set up camp at a good spot im set... but stoked to see the ting tings on the green stage, not a main one. Less of a chance of having to hear anything they play (really, who puts cog up against the ting tings, they and their annoyiness ~ i get it, its not your name... no please either tell us your name or stfu ~ have no chance against lucius and the boys)

Whilst this will probably change nothing, I've created a Facebook group for people who think the organisers have the festival's rarest, biggest drawcards on at the same time! Neil Young and The Prodigy seems illogical for a number of reasons I articulate in this group.

even though i've had many times at festivals with terrible clashes, nothing can be done about. i couldnt imagine the stress that would go into organising something like that. they're probably done it this way because neil young and the prodigy are quite different in styles and bdo is about catering to all walks of music. its just one of those crappy things that happens. im still aching that i had to miss the cat empire due to the awesomeness that was the hives; but i moved on... i accepted it.its something we should come to expect and deal with. if your not happy with it, sell your ticket and go to the side shows...

I said that they have obviously done it because a) you want to even out the crowd and b) they are different styles of music but I was making the point it seemed wrong to clash the two biggest drawcards of the festival. They didn't clash Bjork and Rage who were completely different! Anyway read the facebook group for more :-)

i think i was aiming my whinging complaint well, everyone i know..,. they wont shut up about it. luckily im a dropkicks girl :cool:
i think im jsut getting a little ticked off because the last 2 festivals i went to (sunset sounds and sounds of spring) every little thing was complained about; yet i had the most amazing times at those things. some people just cant be pleased. if the bar lines too long, stay sober or sneak it in, if you came late and the lines were too long, come on time or develop patience, if theres clashes, your just gonna have to make the decision.
