Nine Inch Nails sideshows

Despite the promise that Nine Inch Nails will be performing full concert sets at Soundwave, the band has opted for a couple of headline shows too. Fans in Sydney and Melbourne are getting a second date with Trent Reznor and his ever-changing entourage.

There’s no question Nine Inch Nails will be in formidable form by the time they reach Australia. Reznor himself has declared his group’s – œLights In The Sky’ North American tour “FOR SURE the best show of the year”, and we’re not about to argue.

Nine Inch Nails play two special Soundwave sideshows. Tickets on sale 6 January.

Tues 24 Feb – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Wed 25 Feb – Festival Hall, Melbourne

i'm happy they're doing a sideshow but at festy hall of all places? that venue won't do a nin show justice. anywhere except festy would be good. the palace was good last time but back to back nights at the forum would be the go... wishful thinking...

Count me in. I love The Forum. Paltro was sweet, but the word was that NIN management were really unhappy with how it was run. Also, security were a major case of fail. 4 bottles of water for the night? Fail.

The lighting can be pretty bad at times, along with a bit of sound difficulty.
But yeah, it's still a good venue.

I think the sound has improved vastly over the past year at the Horden. I was sitting in the stands for both Sigur Ros and MGMT and I could hear every word and note clearly. I think it's a great venue too, with the option of both standing and sitting for everyone.

Will be quite an epic show I reckon.

'Tis good for a seedy all-nighter...like the 360 with Super Discount, Slam and Derrick May. Worked well for Kraftwerk last month too, very well...

When NIN played at Hordern in 2007 myself and some friends were right up the very back, very centre, very top of the stands and had the best sound (didn't need plugs either, so the quality was excellent) had an awesome view, and could hang off the bars and scream the lyrics without pissing anyone off. YAY!

That's what I did at Placebo's Sleeping With Ghosts Horden show in 2004. Sang my mouth off when they covered "Where Is My Mind?" in the encore!

haha i was belting out "running up that hill" at placebos last gig and at the end the chick standing next to me turns and goes 'wow you can actually sing. that was heaps better than being stuck next to one of those cunts who's tone deaf".. i just went "oh... ummm... thank you?" haha

Ha ha! Cool. They're touring next year from may in Europe, so here's hope for a show here in '09. They have a new drummer (also named Steve, weird) and Brian has long hair!

http://tour.nin.com and scroll down. You have to do a fair amount of logging in, but I got mine yesterday pretty easily once I got through that.

The catch is that you pick them up at the venue, but the tickets are personalised and special and pretty and whatnot... if you're into that.
