Blues & Roots Easter WeekendExtravaganza Just Gets Better!

Jesus H Christ wearing Havianas and playing bongos and eating delicious tacos from a Mexican restaurant down the street! The line-up for the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival is insane! Seriously!

Sure, I could list all the artists on the bill, and your mind would be blown. But I’m going restrain myself and just list the artists I’m really excited about. How about this? Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio, George Thorogood, Angelique Kidjo, Violent Femmes, Missy Higgins, The Cat Empire, The Wailers, Bo Diddley, Jimmy Barnes, Ernest Ranglin, The Whitlams, Bright Eyes, G. Love And The Special Sauce and John Lee Hooker. They’re just the bands I want to see.

That’s fucking insane. I just can’t stop myself swearing like a tourettes-afflicted pirate. John Lee Hooker, The Violent Femmes and Bright Eyes on the same bill? My god! I nearly threw up in my mouth from excitement!

But wow, what a list. And yeah, Dave Matthews is also there. He’s always struck me as a nerd who exists only so American fratboys can pretend they have actual emotions. So he didn’t make my ‘really excited’ list. But hey, maybe he makes yours!

The festival goes from March 24 – 28. It’s in Byron, but no one will be smoking weed. They’ll all be freaked out they might fall asleep on the beach and miss The Wailers or something. Man, that would suck. Check the full band list out here and hit up Showbiz for travel packages to Byron.

Hey Anton, I think you mean to say JLH son, John Lee Hooker Jr, as the great man himself died in 2001......hopefully he is as awesome as his old man!

Haha, you're quite right. What a silly mistake. I was just too excited to think properly, evidently. Mmmm... John Lee Hooker. What a man.
