Get ready for The Who

Following on from the show-stopping announcement that The Who will close the 2009 Grand Prix in Melbourne, the band’s national dates have been revealed. The British rock titans last embarked on a full Australian tour in 1968, and they’re still a live act to be reckoned with.

Far from trading on past glories, The Who were a unanimous highlight of Glastonbury 2007. With Roger Daltrey and Peter Townshend leading the charge, the shows are sure to be a checklist of gold-plated hits – among them Can’t Explain, Pinball Wizard and My Generation. National support comes from California collective Counting Crows and rock – œn roll ruffians Dallas Crane.

The Who make their triumphant return to our shores in March 2009.

I saw them at Sydney Entertainment Centre in July 2004 and they were truly amazing, stuff full of balls! You Am I opened that show, which was very fitting. But CC and DC should be cool too.

The best thing to come out of the counting crows (asides mr jones and blue buildings or whatever it's called) was that Between The Buried And Me got got their name from one of their songs.

I was so into The Who two years ago but at this point however good they might be right now I don't think I could stand seeing them without that amazing rhythm section that Moon and Entwistle provided.

i've just been looking on the website because i want to get tickets in the presale tomorrow and they've finally put the prices up
except it looks like adelaide is all reserved seating? (i didn't actually realise ent. centre could be entirely seating). ugh as if i want to pay $130 to sit in a seat the whole time.
does anyone know if all the shows are all reserved seating? i'm pretty sure i saw GA listed for the perth show..

adelaide only had two options, reserved seating ($130) or vip seating ($200)
other states had different options with $200 being the most expensive, can't remember them all now

and from the looks of it, the section my seats are in is right behind the vip section anyway..
