Huge Lineup Announced forWaveAid

The lineup for the WaveAid benefit gig for victims of the Asian Tsunami at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday January 29th 2005 has been announced and, wow, has there ever been a bigger collection of Australian crowd pullers taking the same stage for a single event? I don’t think so.

Powderfinger, Midnight Oil, Nick Cave, silverchair, John Butler Trio, Kasey Chambers, The Waifs, Pete Murray, Missy Higgins, The Finn Brothers and supergroup du jour The Wrights performing Evie Parts I, II and III.

All suppliers have been asked to contribute their services at cost or for free. Tickets are $58 plus booking fee and go on sale on Monday January 17th 2005 from Ticketek. Goodonyerz.

The net proceeds from the event will be distributed to Australian Red Cross, Oxfam Community Aid Abroad, Unicef and Care Australia

God, that's absolutely massive. V. surprised at the Silverchair inclusion, I thought it would have been Dissociatives instead. I'd go if I was in Sydney...
