Jim Ward sets his sights on Oz

Something of a dark horse at this year’s Soundwave, the prodigious Jim Ward is returning to our shores for club shows in December. Amidst hard and fast company on the Soundwave circuit, Ward’s unvarnished songs were real showstoppers. In the words of our Brisbane reviewer, “Jim Ward was crafting beautiful acoustic melodies using only his guitar and dryly saccharine voice.”

Having graduated from pivotal roles in At The Drive In and Sparta, the man has forged a distinguished solo career. Now he has “decided to end my year the way I started; by getting on a plane with my guitar and heading down to Australia to play some songs.” There’s little doubt the welcome will again be warm.
