With anticipation reaching fever pitch for the Big Day Out 2nd line-up announcement, knockabout punks Dropkick Murphys have revealed they’re locked in for the January circuit. Speaking with the Jersey Beat blog, frontman Al Barr couldn’t contain his excitement about coming down under.
“We’re real excited because we got the Big Day Out, which is a big festival in Australia,” he enthused. “So we’re planning on going to Australia for about three weeks in January, and New Zealand as well. We really love Australia.”
The Big Day Out booking comes at a heady time for Dropkick Murphys. Off the back of its rough – œn ready sixth album The Meanest Of Times, the band has been rollicking through America on an exhaustive year-long tour. Expect them to be in lean, mean form when they hit our sunny shores.
