It was another wild weekend for Brisbane music. Where were you?
Friday night was the biggest night, especially out at the QUT- Riverstage area. Slipknot were of course the big headliners (check out our photos and review), but spare some thought for Little Red and the Rocketsmiths, playing (and possibly being drowned out) at the QUT Guild Bar a few scant hundred metres away. If you missed it, our review and photos show how much fun a rock show can be, even the band’s not wearing masks.
Down in the Valley, Australia’s iconic You Am I put on another stellar show at the Zoo, and if you don’t believe us, check out our review and photos. The Gold Coast got some You Am I action too.
Meanwhile, a selection of Brisbane’s finest punk and grunge bands, including the awesome Violent Soho, turned the Step Inn into a den of darkness, and we were on hand to catch all the action.
On Saturday night, ex-Aus-Idol contestant Bobby Flynn put on a free show as part of the final QPAC Nights Outside show for the year, and regular Nights Outside shooter James Peters was on hand to capture all the action.
And what better way to wrap up the weekend then with a night of guitar-shredding fury, courtesy of rock gods Dragonforce – check out our mad photos and review.
