Metal 4 Relief - mosh forcharity
Fri 10th Oct, 2008 in Local News
On Saturday 25 October, ten key acts from Adelaide’s metal scene will be joining together to simultaneously raise funds for CanTeen, and remember Kieran Charles Mueller. Kieran passed away this year as a result of a particularly aggressive form of cancer. A huge metal fan and staunch supporter of the scene, even when he was really ill, Metal 4 Relief looks set to become an annual memorial show in his honour.
The bands featuring at Metal 4 Relief include Blood Mason, Imminent Psychosis, Double Dragon, Mammoth, Asphyxia, Order of the Buzzard, Raven Black Night, One Step Beyond and Treachery.
But besides the metal, the gig will feature an all-night sausage sizzle, from which all proceeds will go to CanTeen, plus a raffle featuring prizes like merchandise and CDs from all bands appearing on the night, a RoadRunner pack, vouchers and products from Rock Music Adelaide, free recording time at Against the Grain Studios, plus donations from numerous other local businesses.
If you are free on the 25th, get your arse down to Channel and support this enormously worthy cause. CanTeen is an organisation run by young people for young people as a means of support and time out from the stress of living with, or having a sibling live with, cancer. Amazingly, this organisation does not receive government funds or assistance of higher-profile foundations in either SA or NT… all of which makes Metal 4 Relief even more worthwhile.
By supporting local metal and remembering Kieran’s struggle, you will also be helping CanTeen to continue to provide a variety of programs to develop and empower young people who are living with cancer.
