A Morrissey fan site called True To You has announced the merchant of melancholy and ex -Smiths frontman is going to be heading to Australia in January 2009.

The webzine posted the news on the 2nd October and simply states – “Morrissey will play his first concerts of 2009 in New Zealand. January shows are booked in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Dunedin. From here, Morrissey will travel to Australia where concerts are booked in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide”.

The official Morrissey website has his most current gig listed as the London 02 Wireless Festival which took place in Hyde Park in July and no confirmation has been given by any Australian promoter.

Is it too hopeful to think that Mr. Cave may have him in mind for some All Tomorrow’s Parties action?

Heaven knows we’ll be miserable if it aint so.
